The LG G5 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 were officially "unveiled" on February 21. Now, the reason for saying "unveiled" with the quotation marks is that the pictures and specs were very badly kept secrets - pictures of these devices were released before the devices were even announced. This is probably why LG didn't make such a huge deal of the first "showing" of the G5. Everyone already knew what it looked like before it was even announced, and the same goes for the Galaxy S7.
Enough with that - let's get into the details of the LG G5.
With smartphone sales declining even with the highly-acclaimed LG G4, LG had to bump up their game. The G4 had an amazing camera with many features to cater to the smartphone photographers out there, but it still had the plastic back (unless you wanted to pay more for the leather-backed version) and just didn't feel as premium or look as sleek as the Samsung Galaxy S6.
This year, however, LG released the G5 which has not one camera but two cameras on the back, and a removable battery.
Here are the official specs:
The LG G5 wasn't announced by itself though - but also announced were "LG Friends" - modules that attach onto the LG G5 such as a virtual reality headset, a camera module, and more.
Pre-orders have already started in the U.S. and U.K. and the phone is to be officially released on April 1.
